Hours : 9h00 – 18h00
Following the world financial crisis, as many tried to grasp what had occurred, the same kinds of questions were asked repeatedly: What kind of world do we want to live in? What is it that European societies should aim to achieve? A new challenge has been set: to formulate policies that take us beyond the economic imperative, policies that aim to increase Well-being for All.
This policy glossary represents a transdisciplinary perspective towards achieving systemic responses to the uniqueness of each individual.  To ensure the integration of state-of-the-art research and policy. the author, Professor Ilona Kickbusch, has consulted with the OECD, the Council of Europe, the EU and many experts, foundations, youth organisations, government and non-government organisations across education, health, social affairs, media, ICT, family and other policy fields. The OECD asks: how would we define a better life? Using existing well-being indicators and comparing 11 quality-of-life dimensions, it allows you to rate OECD member states to see where suits you best in terms of desirability! At the very least, it’s interesting to ask ourselves what we really value of the life we create for ourselves. Enjoy!

We knew the relationship between the two programs would be immediately clear to an audience member so, trusting in ourselves, our partners, collaborators and above all our audience and the kids, we forged ahead knowing no one had attempted anything quite like this before. SARAH BATES – REFLECTION ON ‘LEARNING FOR WELL-BEING’ DEEPENING SEMINAR, MARCH 2011

The experience of the Deepening Seminar is one that started before I actually arrived in France and has stayed with me since I left France – it is an ongoing process of learning, realisations, development of techniques, and greater awareness.

Before the seminar I partook in pre-seminar activities which started me thinking about the way I uniquely function. I was also full of expectations before leaving home – expectations of the natural beauty that awaited me at the Monastery; expectations of the personal challenges I might experience; expectations around the facilitators I would meet and what I wanted to gain from them; and expectations about what it would be like to be part of a young group of people who were all extremely powerful in their own ways and in their own communities.
